Dr. Prasad started his career as a news reporter, at first it was mostly ground work and deadlines. Later, over the years, he moved through different roles like Staff Reporter, Chief Reporter, Special Correspondent, and eventually he became the Chief Editor of a Telugu daily newspaper.

During his journey he covered a number of serious and demanding happenings. This includes interviews with Naxal leaders, and also the coverage of the devastating 1996 Konaseema cyclone. He was presented with the Ugadi Puraskaram by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, as a recognition for his journalistic work. Besides that he also received an Honorary Doctorate from South Western American University.

His book, Chandrababu X.O. became quite well known globally after it was translated into English , Hindi, German, and French. And the German and French editions were launched during the World Economic Forum at Davos in 2025. The same book also brought him mention in the Forbes Book of World Records, Asian Book of World Records, and World Excellence Book of Records.

He was later selected for the Author Ink Well Award by Book Channels.
