In 2011 and 2013, the team won the Champions League Twenty20. 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 are their five IPL victories. Hardik Pandya is the current captain of the Mumbai Indians. History

Mumbai Indians started its journey in IPL in 2008. The owners of eight city-based IPL teams were revealed by the BCCI in January 2008. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) paid $111.9 million for the Mumbai franchise, making it the most costly team at the time. The team's ownership rights were granted to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries for a period of ten years.

Home Ground

For the first two IPL seasons, the Mumbai Indians' home games were held at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Due to renovations at Wankhede Stadium for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, they played all seven of their home games at Brabourne Stadium in 2010. The Mumbai Indians won six of their seven games at Brabourne Stadium that season.

Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is currently where the Mumbai Indians play their home games. It is owned by the Mumbai Cricket Association and has a seating capacity of 33,108. It is named after former BCCI President S. K. Wankhede.

Mumbai Indians' motto is "Duniya Hila Denge Hum..." which translates into "We will rock the world." The first team anthem was created on this motto and included the actor Hrithik Roshan.

The team logo represents the Sudarshan Chakra. Initially, the team was to be called Mumbai Razors, but the name was changed to Mumbai Indians on the recommendation of Sachin Tendulkar.

The blue and golden duo is the one most commonly associated with the Mumbai Indians followed by the blue jersey and golden stripes. This design has undergone tiny changes throughout the years. The golden stripes were introduced in 2010. Adidas was producing the jerseys from 2008 to 2014 and the jerseys were made by the Performax, a Reliance brand, since 2015.
