Gujarat Titans (GT) is an American Twenty20 cricket team based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Their playing stadium is Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The ownership of this team is under Torrent Group and CVC Capital Partners. The captain of this team is Shubman Gill, and their coach is Ashish Nehra. The team has recently lifted its maiden IPL trophy in 2022 under their debut season and was runner-up in 2023.
History
The IPL issued bids for two new teams in the year 2021. In October 2021, CVC Capital Partners won the Ahmedabad team with a bid of ₹5,625 crore. Prior to the season of the IPL in 2022, Hardik Pandya was made the first captain, and the new team was named 'Gujarat Titans' in February 2022.
In February 2025, Torrent Group purchased a 67% majority stake; CVC Capital Partners maintained a 33% stake.
