Sapna Choudhary is an Indian dancer, singer, stage performer, and actress. She rose to fame for her energetic Haryanvi dance performances and later gained nationwide recognition after participating in Bigg Boss 11. Popularly referred to as the “Desi Queen,” Sapna is known for blending traditional folk performance with modern stage presence.
Early Life & Education
Sapna Choudhary was born on 25 September 1990 in Mahipalpur, Delhi, and later raised in Rohtak, Haryana. Her father, Bhupendra Atri, passed away in 2008 after a prolonged illness, when Sapna was just 18 years old. Following his death, she took responsibility for supporting her family.
She completed her schooling up to 12th grade but could not pursue higher education due to financial constraints. To support her family, she turned her passion for dance and singing into a professional career.
Career
Sapna began her career with local orchestra and Ragini groups in Haryana and neighbouring states. She performed at small cultural events and gradually built recognition through live stage shows.
Her breakthrough came with the Haryanvi song Solid Body Rai released by Mor Music Company. The performance gained massive popularity and established her as a prominent stage performer.
Her dance video on Teri Aakhya Ka Yo Kajal became viral on YouTube and social media platforms, making her a household name across North India. She has since performed in over 20 songs and numerous live stage shows.
In 2017, Sapna participated in Bigg Boss 11, hosted by Salman Khan. The show introduced her to a nationwide audience and significantly expanded her fan base.
In 2026, Sapna joined the competitive reality show The 50. She stated that she represents a voice rooted in her own soil and culture. Her participation created excitement among her fans nationwide.[1][2]

Personal Life
Sapna Choudhary married singer and music composer Veer Sahu on 24 January 2020. The couple has one son.
