Sowmya D also known as Sowmya Devaraj is an Indian entrepreneur, creative professional, and storyteller. She is the founder the TryConnect, which is a community-centered platform supporting the development of such connections through storytelling, dialogues, and shared community experiences.[1]
Early Life & Education
Sowmya was born on 3 september 2001 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She is a native Telugu Speaker. She has been living in a multicultural environment, which, according to her, was a major factor in her becoming a person infatuated with people, emotions, and communication. In her early years, she was highly attracted to and experimented with artistic means of letting out her feelings - she danced, wrote, and acted. The above-mentioned influences helped her take the path of a storyteller and a human-centered entrepreneur.
Career
Sowmya began her professional journey in creative strategy, digital branding and content-driven projects. These first jobs made her realize how the changes in communication, emotions, and identity could affect both the digital and physical communities and vice versa.
She later founded TryConnect- a platform aimed at reconnecting humans through storytelling and hence the removing of emotional barriers in the modern world ruled by technology. The platform allows people to interact through structured methods like theme-based conversations, group activities, and events held for the community. TryConnect offers the features of social networks, event-based engagement, and storytelling participation and thus it presents itself as a blend of digital platforms and real community spaces.[2][3]
Besides working on TryConnect, Sowmya has actively participated in various creative and entrepreneurial projects in branding, fashion, and media-related industries, and has performed the roles of founder, strategist, and creative director.

Sowmya has been involved in lots of creative disciplines, which really impacted her business ventures. Among these creative activities are dancing, writing lyrics, developing stories, and acting. These creative practices not only the way how she creates the visual identity, content, and engagement with the audience, but also in the projects that have a strong focus on emotional storytelling and personal expression.

Besides, she organized and curated events which were community-centered and based on dialogue, collaboration, and shared human experiences.

Sowmya Devaraj currently resides in Bengaluru, Karnataka and her mother tongue is Telugu. Devaraj Reddy and Kalavathi are her parents and she has two siblings Hemashree and SnehaPriya.
Sowmya has stated that she is not currently in a relationship and is dedicating her time to professional growth, artistic development, and long-term ventures.
